Fishing was particulary hard for the third match of this five match series fished from the Golf Course to Olympiad, with many anglers weighing in less than a pound
Top weight was Colin Gittins, drawn on the end peg above the Olympiad bend. Colin caught mainly roach and perch on the pole for 6-1-0. Second place went to John Garner from the Golf Course fence with 5-10-0. Kevin Williams was also drawn in the Golf Course and finished third with 4-13-0.

Club Match 1 - Sunday 29 June 2008
The many large Chub along the Kellaways stretch of the river failed to feed although sport was generally good for this member's match fished from Kellaways Road Bridge down to the footbridge.
Mark Wooldridge was drawn above the old walkway on peg four and caught roach and chublets for a winning weight of 20-10. Mark caught on stick float and caster. Runner-up Gary Dodson caught quality roach on the pole with caster and hemp, weighing 19-12-0. Gary was drawn below the rapids at the end of Kellaways straight. Third place went to Kevin Williams who caught mainly small fish from the Road Bridge peg for 14-15-0.

Evening Match 2 - Monday 23 June 2008
Bream dominated the winning catch in this secong match of the evening series fished from Riverside Drive to the Blue Bridge.
Drawn at Riverside Drive, Steve Palmer weighed in three bream caught on pole and worm and small fish caught on waggler and maggot for a winning weight of 17-8-0.
Runner-up Mark Wooldridge caught mainly roach and chublets on the waggler from the Brambles to weigh in 9-6-0. Kevin Rowles also caught on waggler to finish third with 8-13-0 from the line of trees.

Open Match - Saturday 22 June 2008
Large fish once again dominated this match fished from Riverside Drive to Dead Stretch. Winning weight was Steve Palmer, weighing 28-9-0 from peg 65, upstream of the Sea Cadets. The catch included five tench caught on pole at ten metres over worm / caster.
Second placed Mark Wooldridge weighed in 15-2-0 including a bream and a tench caught on similar tactics from the Brambles area. Robin Guy's third place weight of 13-7-0 also included a tench and perch from below the Line of Trees.

Evening Match 1 - Monday 16 June 2008
The first match of the river season was fished from Riverside Drive to The Brambles with 24 anglers attending.
Fishing was not easy for most with less than 10lb needed to win. Top weight was Mick Gale who caught a 4lb Tench, a smaller Chub and small fish on the pole for 9-8-0 from Westinghouse Drain. Joint runners up, Mark Wooldridge and Shaun Wilkins were drawn at Riverside Drive. Both caught Chub and Perch on the waggler for 7-8-0.
