Bristol River Avon - Chippenham
Chippenham Angling Club controls the fishing rights on the Bristol Avon upstream of Chippenham Weir to Kellaways Road Bridge, except for one short stretch on the eastern bank between Black Bridge and the mouth of the River Marden.
The stretch of river is split into 7 sections varying in depth, width and flow. The species to be caught include double figure Barbel, Specimen Chub, large Bream,Tench, the odd double figure Carp and healthy stocks of Roach and Perch.
Section 1 - Weir to wooden footbridge except wildfowl feeding area next to town bridge.
Section 2 - Park entrance (wooden footbridge) to blue cycle bridge.
Section 3 - Blue cycle bridge to Westinghouse drain.
Section 4 - Westinghouse drain to Black Bridge.
Section 5 - Black Bridge to Piggeries.
Section 6 - Piggeries to 2nd concrete bridge (Peckingell).
Section 7 - 2nd concrete bridge (Peckengell) to Kellaways road bridge.
In addition to Bristol River Avon waters, Chippenham Angling Club also controls the fishing rights to two well stocked Stillwater lakes at Pockeridge near Corsham. |
