The opening day and the wait was over to get on the river. The weather was wet and very windy. Turn out was low with only 6 pairs fishing. People who did not fish miss a good days fishing. There was a good colour on the river and plenty of flow. Roach small Chub were caught in most pegs. 1st on the day was K Williams with 14lb 8oz. Kevin has caught Roach on the crowquil using caster and maggot. 2nd went to D Johnson & M wooldridge both with 11lb 4oz. Dave has caught a mixed bag of Roach and Chub on the maggot and stick float. Mark has fish the whip with maggot to temp lots of small fish. 3rd was N Lofy & A Hyde with 8lb 6oz. They both have caught Roach and small perch on the stick float with maggot.

 26 angler turned out for this match. This was the first match on the lower end of the river and the river was getting clearer but still had some flow. 1st on the day was N Lofy with 17lb 9oz. Nic has caught good roach on caster over groundbait on the pole. 2nd was M Dolman with 11lb 12 1/2oz. Martin has fished the pole with caster to catch small roach all day. 3rd went to M Gale withh 11lb 6oz. Mic has also caught roach on the stickfloat using maggot

Chippenham Vs Airsprung

29 anglers turned up for the first match of this year on the river. The river was a few inches up, running fast and clear in the margins. The river looked good for some good weights or that's what we thought. 1st on the day went to P Townsend with 12lb 8oz. Pete has caught roach and small chub on the stick float with caster. 2nd was S Palmer with 11lb 4oz. Steve has caught roach and perch using the maggot feeder down the middle.3rd went to D Baker with 11lb 2oz. Dennis has caught a few nice roach and a good bream also using the feeder.

Chippenham Christmas Match

34 anglers turned out for the Christmas match. The river was still pushing through but as bad as before. 1st on the day was L Wooldridge with 23lb 4oz. Luke has caught 6 good chub and roach on the crowquil using maggot. 2nd went to A Hyde with 14lb 13oz. Alex has caught a few small fish before landing 2 good bream in the last half hour on red maggot using the stickfloat. 3rd was S Palmer with 14lb 10oz. Steve has caught small roach and pech on the stickfloat with maggot.
