Open Matches 2012-2013

5th August 2012 

77 Anglers turned out for the open. The river looked spot on with a nice colour and flow. Every one thought it would fish well but this was not the case. 1st was T Chalk with 15lb 10oz. Trever has caught lots of small chub using the waggler and maggot. 2nd went to a King with 14lb 1oz. Andy has also used the waggler and maggot to temp 3 good Chub. 3rd was N Lofy with 11lb 8oz. Nick has used the waggler approach with caster to temp 3 small chub and roach.

Open match 13/1/13

47 anglers made it to this open. The river was clear and the weir was opening every half hour. Fishing on the day was very hard but a few caught well. 1st on the day went to N Lofy with 12lb 13oz. Nick has fished the waggler all day with maggot to tempt some small fish then 4 good chub in the last 30 min. 2nd was C Valender with 11lb 7oz. Charlie has caught chub and roach using the stick float with caster. 3rd went to M Wooldridge with 9lb 12oz. Mark has caught 10 small chub on the stick float with maggots well down his peg.

OPEN MATCH 10/2/13

28 Anglers turned out for this match. The river looked good at the start with nice flow and a green tinge to the water. By the end of the match it had changed to brown and pushing through. 1st on the day went to S Belcher with 10lb. Shane has caught 2 nice bream on the feeder using worm. 2nd was m Gale with 9lb 2oz. Mick has also caught a Bream and a few Roach on the feeder with red maggots. Joint 3 went to G Etheridge and K Rowls with 7lb 2oz. Gary has caught small roach on the pole with maggots. Kevin has had a few roach and a small bream on the pole and feeder.
